Photoshop CSV localisation exercise Created and tested by Nativ, 7 November 2026. Original fictional artwork and manually authored illustrative English, French and German copy. Not a customer project, paid Nativ generation or qualified language approval. You may use and adapt this exercise. No fonts are bundled. FILES studio-template.psd: 1200 x 800, editable type, three text variables and three imported data sets. The saved master keeps the source display. Fonts reference Helvetica Neue; replace unavailable fonts and review the layout on your system. languages.csv: UTF-8, comma-separated, one row per language. en-GB.png, fr-FR.png, de-DE.png: composites extracted from Photoshop's actual exported per-language PSDs. These are static output references, not editable text. REPRODUCE IN PHOTOSHOP DESKTOP 1. Work on a copy of studio-template.psd. 2. Inspect Image > Variables > Define. Edition binds edition, Headline binds headline, CTA binds cta. Each uses Text Replacement. Note is fixed text. 3. File > Import > Variable Data Sets. Select languages.csv, Unicode (UTF-8), Use First Column For Data Set Names. The first column IS the edition variable. Replace Existing Data Sets replaces the exercise's existing three sets. 4. Image > Variables > Data Sets. Preview each language. Verify accents and fit. 5. File > Export > Data Sets as Files. Select a NEW empty output folder, all data sets, and names containing the data set name. Photoshop exports separate PSDs. 6. Open outputs, review/edit them, then export final delivery images separately. TEST SCOPE Adobe Photoshop 2026 on macOS. Defined bindings, imported three rows, previewed French and exported all three PSDs. Reopened German in Photoshop. Parsed all exported PSDs independently and compared literal text with the CSV, including French accents. Checked saved composites. No RTL/vertical/Smart Object/artboard or bulk PNG automation test. Variables change text, not typography rules. The initial source was constructed with ag-psd 34.1.0, then text was updated, variables bound, data imported and outputs rendered/saved by native Photoshop. The master download redacts its local absolute path in XML metadata to the basename, with length-preserving whitespace outside the attribute. No layer, variable, dataset value or image bytes are changed by that metadata redaction.
